frequently asked questions

How many needles are used? Which is for shading/line work?

The number of needles used is determined by the intricacy of tattoo being executed. Each needle grouping, whether it be a lining needle or shading needle, is chosen for the specific task at hand. The names of the needles explain their function. Liners are tightly grouped to form a circle while shading needles are grouped side by side to form a brush effect.

Do you ever have people come in and ask for something that you think to yourself ‘you’ll regret this later on’?

I am only here to provide a service. It’s not about me. It is not my duty to talk people out of their ideas. It is merely my task to create the best looking tattoo I possibly can.

What would you suggest to people who are getting their first tattoo?

Above all… KNOW WHAT YOU WANT! I am here to help with the designing process of your tattoo. I do not know what you should get tattooed because we just met and I don’t know anything about you. I do however, suggest to anyone under the age of 25 years of age, to refrain from getting tattooed below the elbow. You never know what you will want to do with your life, and what you want, may not want you tattooed.

Have you ever had someone tell you that they regret getting any of their tattoos? Can you briefly explain if so?

I am always presented with tattoos gone wrong. For that reason, many of the people who have these tattoos tend to regret the quality, not the symbolism.

How much do you charge for tattoos?

I charge the right price for the right piece. Every tattoo is different and the prices vary.

How many cover-ups would you say you do a year?

Too many and not nearly enough. Too many to count, but there are still lots of people out there who have terrible tattoos who need help.

What are the most asked questions you get?

Do they hurt? How much fo dis? Do you work from home? Can I get a hook up?

What are the most annoying questions you get?

See above.

What should people be asking before getting their tattoos?

They should do their research and find answers prior to getting tattooed. Go online and take some time to research your artist. Here at OG tattoos we provide as much information about ourselves and about the tattoo process as we can. If anything is unclear we will be happy to assist you, but knowing what you are getting your self into, and knowing what you want before hand is encouraged.

Do you know anyone who has been fired or not hired because of their tattoos or have you experienced any complications because of your tattoos? If so, briefly explain what happen.

Know that there are some careers which discriminate against the tattooed, but I have never dealt with it personally. I am my own boss. And I have no complaints.
